Timeless Farmhouse Transformation

Located just outside Berry on the NSW South Coast, this four-bedroom modern farmhouse was reimagined by Hilton Residential into a warm, functional, and character-filled family home. The renovation focused on improving flow and usability while introducing timeless detailing through thoughtful material choices and carefully integrated architectural features.

With a focus on proportion, colour, and texture, the project balances the simplicity of rural living with the refinement of contemporary design. Throughout the home, Intrim’s timber mouldings play a central role in defining and elevating the interiors.

From the moment you enter, it’s clear that detail has been carefully considered. Intrim’s SK497 profile - a classic-shaped skirting and architrave - was used to frame the interior with structure and consistency. The generous 230mm skirting boards and 115mm architraves provide a solid, well-proportioned base, particularly in the open-plan living and dining areas where ceilings are high and spaces flow into one another.

In the kitchen, SK498 skirting was used beneath the island cabinetry in place of traditional kickboards, tying the joinery into the architectural language of the home and adding a layer of subtle refinement.

Wainscoting is used throughout the home to add visual interest and connect the spaces. Created using Intrim’s IN09 inlay moulds and topped with CR99 chair rail, the panelling adds definition without overwhelming the rooms. The result is a consistent design element that runs through hallways, bedrooms, and living zones.

Doors were treated with the same level of detail, using IN33 inlay moulds to introduce subtle texture and elevate otherwise plain surfaces. Around windows, CR77 chair rails and SN03 sill nosing provide clean, crisp finishes, continuing the home’s cohesive use of timber detailing. Where the skirting meets architraves, SB01 skirting blocks were used to create a neat, traditional transition point.

This project demonstrates that well-executed detail - no matter how subtle - can have a powerful impact. Hilton Residential has shown how Intrim’s timber mouldings are more than decorative - they’re an essential part of shaping spaces, connecting materials, and ensuring a consistent and stylish finish throughout the home.
