Chateau Architects + Builders is a Sydney custom home architect and builder, providing turnkey services to its clients for over 50 years.

Chateau recently completed a luxury home in Gordon on Sydney’s north shore with a stunning Modern Hamptons theme inside and out.

The brief was ‘to create a family home in a Modern Hamptons style that was homely rather than formal’. Safe to say the brief was well fulfilled. The mouldings supplied by Intrim played a key role in creating and maintaining the Hamptons feel throughout the home.

“Most of our clients know the style they want to capture when they come to us, so it’s easy for us to specify architectural products like timber trims that will work with the style. We often go to Intrim’s sample box recommendations to begin the process,” said Chateau’s Construction Director, Alex McDonald.

In the Gordon Hamptons home, Intrim skirting boards and architraves were used throughout, while inlay mould and chair rail were used for wainscoting in the study and entrance hall, in all white, to create a more formal feel. Lining boards were used on the vaulted ceiling in the living and dining areas to draw the eye upwards and outwards to the alfresco dining area and leafy backyard.

“Intrim products blend perfectly with all the homes we build. With such a broad range of architectural trims, we find the right product from traditional to modern and everything in between,” said McDonald.

Through the thoughtful use of styled timber mouldings, Chateau was able to meet the brief of a homely Modern Hamptons home, carrying this theme effectively throughout the residence.

“Good communication is essential in our business, and Intrim makes it simple and easy for us to work with them. They respond promptly and always deliver on time. Often, trims are selected very early in the building process, so they have plenty of time to turn around our orders, but they also respond well when there’s something slightly different.

“We also have no installation issues with Intrim mouldings. Our carpenters and painters are happy working with their high-quality products,” McDonald concluded.
