Dave Franklin is a multi-award-winning landscaper and Aussie icon in the build and interior design world. Based in Melbourne Dave is a professional landscaper who has been working in the industry since he was a teenager. Dave founded his own company, The Franklin Group in 2010, which has quickly grown to provide landscape, design, and construction services and is one of the leading landscape design firms in Victoria. Dave has regularly featured on Channel NINE The Block as the resident landscaper over the past 9 years as well as presents on Open Homes Australia. Dave also worked with Hamptons Queen Natalee Bowen, Indah Island on her Hamptons Farmhouse in 2019 restoring the home to its former glory. The two have decided to once again pair up this time at Dave’s own home. This talented combo has resulted in a breathtaking Transitional Modern Hamptons-styled home.

Intrim Mouldings were used in this home making the doors, windows and flooring pop with sky-high SK58 skirting boards in 230mm and SK58 architraves in 115mm. Large skirting boards and architraves are perfect for a Hamptons home where the theme is all about grand and decadent interiors.

Natalee shared a little about how this project came together as well as all the styling elements involved:

“This home had white walls and an angular structure that we were able to renovate in a way to strip and reallocate the kitchen for a more spacious feel. The upstairs roof had to be completely redone which allowed us to create huge vaulted ceilings which enabled this space to become a library retreat room. Most rooms stayed in place with the exception of the bedroom which was extended to create a larger roomier area with a WIR and a beautiful balcony. We went with a monotone look of white walls black doors and floors with feature hardware to bring the look seamlessly together. The great feel of this space is that the details of the skirting, architraves and sills allow this look to be classic if needed but then layered up to become any of the Hampton-styled looks with furniture. The furniture and styling in this house is very eclectic which works for Janes’s look. Lots of layers of plants and rugs create a warm feel thought-out the home.”
