Creative Concave at Meraki Collective

We love it when clients think outside the box. This project uses Intrim concave to wrap around the desks of this hair-dressing studio, perfectly showing off decorative curves.

There is nothing Intrim love more than seeing our clients get creative with our products, which is why we can’t get enough of this gorgeous project featuring Concave Mouldings. Meraki Collective is a hair studio near Penrith that opened mid-way through 2022. The owner Tash wanted to create a space that was warm and welcoming for her clients. She envisioned a minimalistic space with a focus on natural textures and curves rather than colour to allow for a calm environment. Tash also wanted to see the curves and natural textures reflected in her furniture which was when she thought of Intrim for her desks.

“I decided to use CC50 concave for my reception desk as it is the first thing you see when you walk in and sets the scene for the curves and softness of the salon. The curves in the concave desk were the perfect fit to compliment the textures and shapes I have consistently used throughout the salon.”

Concave is a timber moulding used in panelling a wall (or in this case desks), with a semi-circle removed from the batten creating a decorative scallop. The natural tones and soft curves achieved through the use of Intrim Concave create a soft warmth in this studio, allowing guests to truly relax during their treatments.

Traditionally concave is used as panelling for a wall. This is why we love how CC50 concave has been used to wrap around this desk.
